Crackerjack has partnered with Down to Earth to offer a small range of South West wines to customers in Britain, Ireland and Australia. David and Freya Hohnen will work closely with the winemakers at Down to Earth to vinify and craft great wines at accessible price points.
Established in 1949, Producta Vignobles brought together a group of co operative wineries that have been growing grapes and making wine since the 1930s. Producta represents the interests of 2500 growers who farm 20,000 hectares, principally in Bordeaux and also other regions in south-west France.
The better known Bordeaux appellations produce great wines but of necessity these wines are priced for the top shelf. The best hunting grounds for great and affordable wines are in the lesser publicised regions such as Entre-Deux-Mers and Bergerac.
David Hohnen has worked with Producta’s winemakers to source, vinify and blend wines to appeal to Joe the plumber, Nurse Avril and other customers for everyday priced wines of exceptional quality.
